Orland Park, IL - Mary Ellen “Maureen” Hernon (née Bones), a native of Co. Mayo, Ireland, passed away. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Hernon and the cherished daughter of the late Michael and Mary Bones.

Maureen was a dear sister to the late Johnny Bones and a kind aunt to many nieces and nephews. She held a special place in the hearts of her sisters-in-law Sally (John), Ann, Michael, Peter (Bridget), Rita, Marie, Angela (Michael), and others who preceded her in death.

A precious companion, Maureen shared a bond with her loving dog, Delilah.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, proceeding to St. George Church for Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
