State Sen. Darren Bailey (R-Louisville) has announced that he is taking his gubernatorial campaign on the road this month for a bus tour between Dec. 13 and 15 at a variety of locations.

“Friends, we will have a huge announcement on this bus tour you don’t want to miss. Please share and join us as at a stop near you! #standingwithyouin2022 #FirePritzker #baileyforillinois #baileybus #RestoreIllinois #twill," Bailey tweeted on Dec. 8.

The tour spans throughout the state and was set to begin at Dec. 13 in Lisle at Caffe Di Moda. It was then to move to Rockford to Fozzy’s Bar and Grill, then to Ottawa at the Lone Buffalo at 4 p.m. It was to finish the day at The Rust Belt in East Moline.

On Dec. 14 at 9 a.m., the bus will arrive in Peoria at Kelleher’s Irish Pub and Eatery. Bailey will then go to Bloomington at 1 p.m. at the Ride the Nines Shooters Lounge before hitting Weebles Bar and Grill in Springfield for a 4 p.m. stop. The day will finish in Collinsville at 7 p.m. at the Revive Assembly of God.

On Dec. 15, Bailey will be at Riley’s Smokehouse BBQ at 9 a.m. and then to the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport at noon. He will then travel to Effingham for a 3:30 p.m. stop at the campaign headquarters before going to Jupiter’s At The Crossing in Champaign at 7 p.m.

Bailey announced that he would be running for governor in March and in April, he vowed that his plans as governor would include a spending freeze and no tax increases in what is a “zero-based budget,” according to seillinoisnews.com.

“Every department would start at zero and they would have to show why they need money,” he said.

In October, Bailey showed well in a poll by Ogden & Fry. The poll showed that among Republican likely voters, 33% of respondents were in favor of him, compared to his nearest competitor, Jesse Sullivan, with 6%. He told the Prairie State Wire that people are ready for a change and that his “grassroots movement” fights for working families. Bailey feels that it is time for a change from Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

“We will fire Pritzker and get Illinois working again,” Bailey said.
