Ronald J. Norway, Dedicated Public Servant and Loving Family Man, Passes Away at 86

Ronald J. Norway, aged 86, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025. Born on July 20, 1939, in Chicago, he was a devoted husband to his late wife Sharon and a loving father to his three children, Ron, Randy, and Cheri. He was a proud grandfather of five grandchildren and a great-grandfather to Ben.

Ron dedicated himself to public service, with a notable career as a Chicago Park District Supervisor for 28 years before serving with the Chicago Police Department for 10½ years. At the age of 52, in 1992, he made history as the oldest recruit in the department.

A Visitation and Celebration of Life for Ronald will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium in Justice, Illinois, with cremation rites accorded.

To honor Ronald's memory, contributions can be made by sending flowers or planting a tree through the floral store.
