FOIA Request to Lee County Clerk Regarding 2025 Consolidated Elections Candidates on January 14, 2025.

In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Prairie State Wire have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Lee County Clerk in Illinois. The request was sent on January 14, 2025.

The FOIA request specifically asks for a list of candidates running for the upcoming 2025 Consolidated Elections. We have requested this information in an electronic format and specified that the list should include each candidate's name, the date they filed their candidacy, and the office they are running for.

As a media organization, we believe in holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill these professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also asked for a fee waiver as media professionals under the provisions of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.

We eagerly await a response from the Lee County Clerk's office and will continue to keep our readers informed about local government affairs.
