The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) announced today that the state's unemployment rate increased by 0.1 percentage point to 5.0 percent in June, while nonfarm payrolls rose by 10,400 jobs. This data, provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), was released by IDES. The revised unemployment rate for May remained at 4.9 percent, and the monthly change in payrolls for May was adjusted from an initial report of 12,700 to 9,600 jobs.
